6th Rare Event Workshop
6th Rare Event Workshop was held on May 18th (Mon) at the University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus, Engineering Building 3 – Meeting Room 424.
The Workshop was jointly carried out with APSA (Advanced Photon Science Alliance), UT-PSC (Photon Science Center of the University of Tokyo), IPST (Institute for Photon Science and Technology) and ICCPT.

14:00 – 15:00 Prof. Hirohiko KONO (Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University) “Molecular Imaging from Coulomb Explosion by Light −C60 and model DNA−”
Prof. Kono will speak about simulation on nano carbon reraction dynamics and DNA strand breaks.
15:00 – 16:00 Dr. Tomohito OTOBE (X-Ray Laser Application Group, Japan Atomic Energy Agency) “First-Principle Calculation of Electron and Light”
Dr. Otobe will speak about simulation combining time-dependant density-functional theory and Maxwell equations, and first-principle calculation of dynamic Franz-Keldysh effect.
