2. Yuki Orimo (M1): Outstanding Presentation Award by the Laser Society of Japan (Feb. 2016, ceremony in May)

3. Koudai Iwatsu (B4): Outstanding Graduation Thesis Award by Department of Systems Innovation, Faculty of Engineering, the University of Tokyo (Feb. 2016, ceremony in March)

In addition, Mr. Orimo was selected for “Overseas Musha-Shugyoh (samurai or knight-errantry)” by Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, traveling Munich, Germany to train himself at Prof. Armin Scrinzi laboratory in the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München for about 2 weeks from February 13th to 29th, 2016.

Furthermore, Dr. Yasushi Shinohara (Project Researcher) won “International Collaboration Grant for Young Faculty and Post-Doctoral Researchers of the Graduate School of Engineering” under the Nuclear Expert Development Project 2015 (sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), achieving fruitful joint research with Prof. Joachim Burgdörfer group of the Vienna University of Technology despite very tight schedule, from February 21st to 28th, 2016.
